KANHA NATIONAL PARK KANHA: TIGER RESERVE OF M.P The Kanha National Park was established on 1st June 1955, and it covers two districts of Mandla and Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh . Kanha was originated from Gondwana- "Land of Gonds"(Gonds are the baigas where two native tribes of central india that inhabited forests). It has honour of providing the settings for Rudyard Kipling classic novel "THE JUNGLE BOOK". It comes under top 10 tourist spot of India. It lies in "Maikal Range". Its rich in sal and bamboo forest, lakes, streams and open grasslands. In flora it mainly consists of three types of forestes( with 200 species of flowering plants and 70 species of trees) namely : Moist Peninsular Sal Forests, Southern Tropical Moist Mixed Deciduous Forest, Southern Tropical Dry Deciduous Mixed Forest This park is one of the largest national parks of the India.
