Pench Tiger Reserve Mowgli Land
Also known as "Pench Tiger Reserve" or "Mowgli Land".
It is named so as it is situated beside river Pench.
It is locate in "Seoni" district of Madhaya Pradesh which is exactly 60km away from pench.
Originally labelled as sanctuary in 1977, Pench became a National Park in 1983. In 1992, it was established as a tiger reserve, and in 2002 it was christened as the Indira Priyadarshini National Park.
Pench Madhya Pradesh covers an area half the size of Mumbai City that is 293sq km.
It is located just beside the NH7.
According to tiger sensus only 40 tigers are residing here.
Night Safari is also available here which is closed during rainy season .
There are 46 forest guards in Pench National Park.
The natural richness of the park has been mentioned in Ain-i-Akbari, the 16th-century document chronicling the reign of Emperor Akbar during the Mughal era.
Pench national Park is very rich in fauna- Some of these are-: Tiger, Leopard, Jungle Cats, Sloth Beer, Wild dog, Jackle, Wolf, Hyena, Fox, Wild Boar, Langoor, Monkey, Indian Gaur (Bison), Sambhar, Barking deer, Spotted deer, Porcupine etc. Also there are many species of reptiles found at Pench National Park – Snakes, Monitor Lizard etc. More than 300 species of residential and migratory birds can be seen at Pench national park.
Famous trees of Pench National Park :- Mahua, Palash, Teak, Neem and Shrubs.
HOW TO REACH
Airways:- The nearest airport is Sonegaon airport in Nagpur which is 93 km from Pench. Nagpur is well connected to other major cities by air route.
Roadways:- From Nagpur it is 100 km and from there reach Seoni , from Seoni (60km from pench) to khawasa (also in NH7) through bus or cab and entering from Turiya gate (12km)
Railways:- The nearest railway station is Seoni Railwat Station which is 30kms approximately from Pench National Park.

1. Bodhnala Range:-Another bird watching hotspot in the Pench National Park, Bodhnala Range has a beautiful lake that attracts a wide array of both native and exotic birds. With its rich diversity of avian life, this region of the national park is home to a large number of migratory birds.
2. Raiyakassa:-Nestled in the center of the dense Pench National Park, Raiyakassa offers an excellent view of the Pench River banks. The main attraction of this place is a watch-tower that is erected by the park authorities.
3. Piyorthadi:-It is a core an buffer area of Pench National Park.
4. Sitaghat:-Capture the breathtaking beauty of the Pench River and indulge in some birding activities at Sitaghat. This part of the Pench National Park is undoubtedly the most captivating location where tourists can spend some time amidst the rugged terrain and lush greenery. 6. Chhindimatta Road:-Chhindimatta Road is the point dividing Madhya Pradesh from Maharashtra. It is a huge reservoir that offers amazing bird-watching options. An interesting feature of this part of the national park is that it is full of crest and trough and is perched on rocky hills whereas rest of the sanctuary is a flatland.
7. Kalapahad:-The Kalapahad Hill is majestically perched at an impressive elevation and is also the splitting point that sends one way towards Alikatta and the other to Chhindimatta. The hilly terrain features impenetrable woodland.

BEST TIME TO VISIT
February to June is the best time to visit the Pench National Park. The chances of finding animals increases in summers as they get out more often to drink water. October to February is also a good time as the weather remains favourable here.

पेंच राष्ट्रीय पार्क
"पेंच टाइगर रिजर्व" या "मोगली लैंड" के रूप में भी जाना जाता है।
इसका नाम इसलिए रखा गया है क्योंकि यह पेंच नदी के किनारे स्थित है।
यह मध्य प्रदेश के "सिवनी" जिले में पाया जाता है जो कि पेंच से बिल्कुल 60 किमी दूर है।
मूल रूप से 1977 में अभयारण्य के रूप में लेबल किया गया, 1983 में पेंच एक राष्ट्रीय उद्यान बन गया। 1992 में, इसे एक बाघ अभयारण्य के रूप में स्थापित किया गया था, और 2002 में इसे इंदिरा प्रियदर्शिनी राष्ट्रीय उद्यान के रूप में नामित किया गया था।
पेंच मध्य प्रदेश में मुंबई शहर का आधा क्षेत्र है जो 293 वर्ग किमी है।
यह NH7 के बगल में स्थित है।
बाघ के होश के मुताबिक, यहां केवल 40 बाघ रह रहे हैं।
यहां नाइट सफारी भी उपलब्ध है जो बरसात के मौसम के दौरान बंद रहती है।
पेंच नेशनल पार्क में 46 फ़ॉरेस्ट गार्ड हैं।
पार्क की प्राकृतिक समृद्धि का उल्लेख 16 वीं शताब्दी के दस्तावेज ऐन-ए-अकबरी में किया गया है, जो मुगल काल के दौरान सम्राट अकबर के शासनकाल को बढ़ाता है।
पेंच राष्ट्रीय उद्यान जीव-जंतुओं में बहुत समृद्ध है- इनमें से कुछ हैं: - बाघ, तेंदुआ, जंगल की बिल्लियाँ, स्लोथ बीयर, जंगली कुत्ता, जैकल, भेड़िया, हायना, लोमड़ी, जंगली सूअर, लंगूर, बंदर, भारतीय गौर (बाइसन), सांभर , बार्किंग हिरण, चित्तीदार हिरण, साही इत्यादि भी हैं। पेंच नेशनल पार्क में कई सरीसृपों की प्रजातियां पाई जाती हैं - सांप, मॉनिटर छिपकली आदि। 300 से अधिक प्रजातियों के आवासीय और प्रवासी पक्षियों को पेंच नेशनल पार्क में देखा जा सकता है।
पेंच नेशनल पार्क के प्रसिद्ध पेड़: - महुआ, पलाश, सागौन, नीम और झाड़ियाँ।
कैसे पहुंचा जाये
एयरवेज: - निकटतम हवाई अड्डा नागपुर में सोनेगांव हवाई अड्डा है जो पेंच से 93 किमी दूर है। नागपुर वायु मार्ग द्वारा अन्य प्रमुख शहरों से अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ है।
रोडवेज: - नागपुर से यह 100 किमी है और वहाँ से सिवनी, सिवनी (पेंच से 60 किमी) से खवासा (एनएच 7 में) बस या टैक्सी के माध्यम से और तुरिया गेट (12 किमी) से प्रवेश करते हैं।
रेलवे: - निकटतम रेलवे स्टेशन सिवनी रेलवेट स्टेशन है जो पेंच नेशनल पार्क से लगभग 30 किलोमीटर दूर है।
घूमने के स्थान
1. बोधनाला रेंज: - पेंच नेशनल पार्क में हॉटस्पॉट देखने वाली एक पक्षी, बोधनाला रेंज में एक सुंदर झील है जो देशी और विदेशी पक्षियों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला को आकर्षित करती है। एवियन जीवन की समृद्ध विविधता के साथ, राष्ट्रीय उद्यान का यह क्षेत्र बड़ी संख्या में प्रवासी पक्षियों का घर है।

4. सीताघाट: पेंच नदी की लुभावनी सुंदरता को निहारना और सीताघाट में कुछ बीरिंग गतिविधियों में शामिल होना। पेंच नेशनल पार्क का यह हिस्सा निस्संदेह सबसे मनोरम स्थान है जहाँ पर्यटक बीहड़ इलाके और हरे-भरे हरियाली के बीच कुछ समय बिता सकते हैं। आकर्षक और दुर्लभ पंख वाली सुंदरियों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला पर अपनी आँखों को दावत देते हुए एक खूबसूरत सुबह या शाम को शानदार धूप और सूर्यास्त में घूमते हुए बिताएं।
5. एलिकट्टा: -अलीकट्टा पेंच नेशनल पार्क के केंद्र में स्थित है और वन्यजीवों के दर्शन का केंद्र बिंदु है। यह स्थान जंगल में जीवन को देखने और अनुभव करने का एक शानदार तरीका प्रदान करता है।
6. छिंदिमत्ता रोड: -चिन्दीमत्ता रोड महाराष्ट्र से मध्य प्रदेश को विभाजित करने वाला बिंदु है। यह एक विशाल जलाशय है जो अद्भुत पक्षी-देखने के विकल्प प्रदान करता है। राष्ट्रीय उद्यान के इस हिस्से की एक दिलचस्प विशेषता यह है कि यह शिखा और गर्त से भरा हुआ है और चट्टानी पहाड़ियों पर स्थित है जबकि शेष अभयारण्य एक समतल भूमि है।

पेंच नेशनल पार्क घूमने के लिए फरवरी से जून का समय सबसे अच्छा है। जानवरों को खोजने की संभावना ग्रीष्मकाल में बढ़ जाती है क्योंकि वे पानी पीने के लिए अधिक बार बाहर निकलते हैं। अक्टूबर से फरवरी भी अच्छा समय है क्योंकि यहाँ मौसम अनुकूल रहता है।
