It is located in the rugged Himalayan foothills in the districts of Almora, Nanital, and Paurigharpal of Uttarakhand state of India.  

It was established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park (to protect the endangered Bengal Tigers) on behalf of Governor of the United Province (now U.P) Sir Malcolm Hailey, again in 1952 it is named as Ramganga National Park and finally in 1957 it is named as Jim Corbett National park. it is named after great British tracker, hunter and poacher who hunt for man-eating tigers and leopards.
Corbett National Park has 110 species of trees, 51 species of shrubs and over 33 species of grass.
Area:-1288.36sq km
It is Indias oldest and richest treasure.
There are no boundaries and borders.
The presence of otters in ram Ganga river clearly signifies that the water is free from pollution.
Ram Ganga river is the home of descendants of prehistoric reptiles such as the gharial and Magar.  

One of the richest bird reason of India , housing almost 600 species including local as well as exotic migratory birds.
Most of the water birds are migrants and arrive in the winters .they began arriving from early November until December and return by the spring.
Dawn and dusk are the best time of the day to spot owls in the deep dense woods.
Corbett Tiger Reserve has highest density of population of tigers in the country at 20 tigers per 100 sq km.
Sun begins to set up on the horizon and the safari comes to an end for the day.
Flora :- In association with bhabar about 110 species of trees, 51 species of shrubs, 27 species of climbers and 33 species of bamboo and grass are found. The most prominent species of tree is Sal Shorea robusta which is found over 75 % of the total area.
Main trees found here are Sal, semal, dhak, kharpat, sissoo, khair, khingan, bakli, bel, ber, bamboo, rohini, pula, khingan and kuthber
Fauna:-
Mammals:hog deer, barking deer, wild boar, langur, Wild pig, rhesus monkey, sambar and jackal,Tiger leopard, elephant, chital, sambar,
Reptile: gharial, hamadryad, King cobra, common krait, cobra, Russels viper, python and monitor lizard,Indian marsh crocodile .
Fish: chilwa and goonch,Mahaseer, kalimuchi, kalabasu,
There are 5 zones out of which two zones are open all over the year.
Zones are :-
1. Dhikla zone:-Canter Safari Zone, Dhangadi Gate
    2. Birjani Zone:- Jeep Safari Zone, Day Jeep Safari, Amdanda Gate
    3. Durga Devi Zone:-, Jeep Safari Zone, Day Safari Only, Durga Devi Gate
    4. Dhela Zone:- Jeep Safari Zone, Only Day Safari, Dhela Gate.
    5.Jhirna Zone, Jeep Safai Zone, Only Day Jeep Safari,

HOW TO REACH

The Corbett National Park is situated at an  distance of 260 Kms from the Capital Delhi.
Airways:- The closest airport to the town Ramnagar is the Dehradun Airport, Uttrakhand, located at a distance of 156 km from NH34. Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, is that the second nearest and therefore the major airport, located at a distance of 243 km.
Railways:- Ramnagar Railway Station is that the only  railway station which is nearest to The Corbett Park.  Taxis are easily available from these stations.
Roaways:- Corbett is around 15 Kms from Ramnagar town.The city Ramnagar features a excellent road network .Uttarakhand government buses ply at a brief interval of your time from Delhi, Moradabad, Haldwani that reaches directly Ramnagar.

⦁ Garjiya Temple:- Dedicated to Goddess Parvati, Garjia Devi temple situated at top of an enormous rock in the midst of Kosi River, is additionally home to the deities of Baba Bhairon, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati.A large no. of worshipper worship this  temple on Karthik Poornima.
⦁ Corbett Museum:- Corbett Museum is may be a bungalow that earlier belonged to Jim Corbett- the documented tiger conservationist and contains his memoirs, his personal belongings, letters written by him as well as his friends and well-wishers, antiques and rare photographs, Located at Kaladhungi.
⦁ Corbett Waterfall:-This is 66 ft. high waterfall.
⦁ Suspension Bridge:-This is old Bridge over a river used by the locals.
⦁ Kosi River:-Kosi River is a famous attraction for its picturesque location with a breathtaking view of the hills in the backdrop and pristine clear waters.
⦁ Angling:- The catchment area of Kosi offers many Fishing camps and is popular for Mahseer fishing.
⦁ Durga Mandir Temple:-Durga Mandir is an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. The stunning ancient temple architecture and infrastructure with relief work displaying legends of other Hindu deities attracts tourists in large numbers.
⦁ Hanuman Dham:-Hanuman Dham is one of the best Lord Hanuman temple which is located at a distance of the 8 km from the main city.
⦁ Sitabani Temple:-Sitabani Temple is situated in the Sitavani Jungles of the Jim Corbett National Park. It is an ancient temple, famous for its religious significance and temple architecture an infrastructure. The diety worshipped here is godess Sita who is believed to be here during her exile period (Agnipariksha).
⦁ Gyan Yatra:-Gyan Yatra is a program that is designed to share knowledge about Jim Corbett and the flora and fauna thriving inside it to the guests.
⦁ Durga Devi Zone:-Durga Devi Zone is famous for its safari through dense forestation and hilly terrain.

BEST TIME TO VISIT
The best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park is between November and February i.e, during the winter season when all the zones are open, and you can spot the most animals.
With temperate weather, Corbett lets you visit the Park all year long.
